The Women for the World program encourages people to either donate, host an event or sign up for the 100km challenge, with money raised helping to empower vulnerable women with the skills and resources they need to take control of their lives and forge a way out of poverty.

Caritas Diocesan director Tracey Tessitore said last year’s event was held in the Adelaide foothills and brought together a group of local women who were committed to “learn, contemplate, pray and do something practical for our sisters across the seas”.

“During the month of August we are once again encouraging local women to get together a small group of friends to experience a trek up the hill so they too can learn about the lives of women who will be empowered through their generous donations,” she said.

“Women need to understand they can make a tangible and lasting impact for countless women and girls around the world.”
