It was a very welcome Christmas present for one of South Australia’s best known homelessness services when around 20 members of the Catholic Women’s League (Archdiocese of Adelaide branch) gathered at the Adelaide Diocesan Centre in early December.
The faithful were reminded of the call to be peacemakers and “stewards of this ancient land” at the annual Australia Day Mass held in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral.

A group of dedicated Catholic women are continuing a tradition established 110 years ago when the first Catholic Women’s League (CWL) in the southern hemisphere was established in South Australia.
