60th anniversary for Monsignor Egar
Local
Monsignor Rob Egar celebrated the 60th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood at Mass in Holy Spirit Church, Seacombe Gardens, last month.

It was standing room only in the church and afterwards at lunch in the parish hall. Mgr Egar said he was gratified so many members of the “extended clan” as well as many people from the parishes in which he had served over the past 60 years had come to the Mass.
He told the congregation he enjoyed all the communities to which he was appointed: Croydon, Brighton, Morphett Vale, Salisbury, Glenelg and Seacombe Gardens.
For five years he worked with Archbishop Faulkner and the Diocesan Pastoral Team during his time as Vicar General. As well as being involved with many parishes and schools as a supply priest, he is also involved in Pilgrims Quest, a voluntary group that evangelises by producing small publications.
