A charity soccer tournament held last month has raised more than $5000 for Birthline Pregnancy Support.
Organisers John Paul Kemp, Michael Kayal, Oliver Scriven and Julian Scriven from Holy Name Catholic parish said they were grateful for the support received in the months leading up to the event.
The tournament was played at Thomas Turner Reserve – Adelaide Pumas Football Club, Valley View.
About 20 volunteers helped with various planning jobs and on the day served the spectators and players of around 200 people.
Fundraising proceeds came largely from a raffle with prizes donated by Adelaide Crows, Adelaide United, Modbury Hotel, HIPPO Christian Bookstore and Chateau Tanunda Wines.

The main prize was a 2026 signed home jersey by the entire Adelaide United squad.
Four local teams competed in the tournament, namely the Crusaders FC, Rosarians, YMG (Young Men of God) and The Knights.
The Rosarians and the Crusaders competed for the Champions Trophy in the grand final with the Rosarians victorious (3-1).
During a break in games a representative from Birthline gave a speech about raising awareness for women going through pregnancy and what services Birthline provides.
Member of Parliament Claire Scriven attended the event and donated a raffle prize of a Parliament House dinner for four people.
A barbecue lunch, cake stall and book stall also provided funds.
Throughout the day people could buy a BBQ lunch of sausages and hamburgers or go down to the Marque and choose from assorted cakes at the bake stall.
