South Australian Catholic tennis stalwart Craig Glennon has been posthumously honoured with an Order of Australia Medal (OAM).

Mr Glennon died in March last year aged 75.
He was recognised for his service to tennis as an official and administrator and to football as an umpire and umpire coaching.
His contribution to tennis included serving on the Tennis Officials Australia Advisory Board, Tennis Australia, as CEO, official, co-chairperson and secretary of the SA Branch; president of West Beach Tennis Club for approximately 26 years; and president of the South Australian Catholic Lawn Tennis Association (SACLTA) for 10 years.
Mr Glennon was a life member of the SACLTA, Tennis Umpires Australia (SA Division) and Xavier Lawn Tennis Association.
Beginning his outstanding service to umpiring on the field in 1971, Mr Glennon officiated in 255 country league matches, including eight grand finals, before retiring due to injury in 1986.
He then moved into coaching and observing for the SANFL Umpiring Academy and for the Independent Schools Association before acting as a SANFL Match Day officer and coordinator from 2017 to 2023.
He was made a life member of the SANFL Umpires Association in 2006.
“SANFL and the SA Football Commission is pleased that Craig’s outstanding contribution to football in South Australia has been recognised with an Order of Australia Medal,” SA Football Commission Chairman Rob Kerin said.
“Craig had a significant influence on the development of aspiring young umpires through his involvement with the SANFL Umpiring Academy; I’m sure this will be a proud moment for his family.”
