From August 19 to 25, Catholic schools across South Australia will host more than 80 school tours and open days, inviting families from all backgrounds who are considering schooling options to come and discover what a Catholic education can offer.

“This Catholic Schools Open Week we encourage parents who are considering a Catholic education for their child to visit their local Catholic school and discover how we work in partnership with families to educate and nurture young people,” said Dr Neil McGoran, executive director, Catholic Education South Australia.

“As an educational sector we are committed to providing excellence for every child and young person whose education is entrusted to our care. We want every student to experience success according to their unique characteristics and talents and to discover a love of learning and values for life.”

The list of tours is extensive and can be booked in the lead-up to the event. They range from Goodwood’s St Thomas School and Preschool, Gleeson College in Golden Grove to Middle School tours at Nazareth College (Flinders Park Campus), Sacred Heart College’s Marcellin and Champagnat, and an All Saints Catholic Primary School tour with Principal Nick Wright.

Regional tours span Penola’s Mary MacKillop Memorial School, to a tour with the likes of St Mark’s College Principal Dr Sandra Hewson in Port Pirie.
CESA hopes to spread the message far and wide. Catholic education is ‘front and centre’ across the state in a major advertising campaign – one of the largest annual promotions in SA.

The faces of 110 students from Catholic schools throughout metro, regional and rural South Australian schools participated in a series of photo shoots earlier this year. Over the coming weeks their images will feature across a range of advertising mediums including billboards, bus shelters, buses, shopping centres, print and digital.

Catholic Schools Open Week runs from August 19 to 25. The full list of Catholic Schools Open Week activities planned at participating schools can be found on the Catholic Education SA website
