Local politician Frank Pangallo MLC had the opportunity to meet with the Bishop of Penang, Bishop Sebastian Francis, during a visit to Malaysia this month.
Coinciding with the annual celebrations of St Anne, Mr Pangallo attended Sunday Mass at St Anne’s Church on July 24. He was accompanied by Adelaide resident Greg Jenkins, who has been seeking justice following the disappearance and unexplained death of his mother, Anna Jenkins, on a trip to Penang in 2017.
During the service, Bishop Francis spoke warmly of Malaysia’s strong ties with Australia and the charitable work conducted by Australian Catholic welfare agencies in the country.
In a private meeting with Bishop Francis after the Mass, Mr Pangallo discussed the controversial abortion-to-nine months legislation and euthanasia laws which were passed by the SA Parliament last year.
