Held in the forecourt of the 98-year-old Sacred Heart Church on Port Road, a nativity scene and Christmas lights provided the perfect backdrop for musicians from across the parish.

Parish priest Fr Lancy D’Silva CSC said young people were well represented and the audience “delighted in seeing our children share their musical gifts and skills.

“Not much shyness amongst them, they were all happy to ‘shine their light’,” he added.

“To see so many children and families really enjoying themselves throughout the evening, and many of our parishioners sitting back and lapping up the entertainment, was great.”

Although there was a good attendance in “these COVID times”, Fr D’Silva said it was hoped there would be an opportunity to “grow” the event in 2022 with people from the wider community invited to gather and share the Christmas spirit.
