Filipino festival at Seaton

Adelaide’s Filipino community gathered at Mater Christi Church, Seaton, on May 29 for the feast of Santa Cruzan and the launch of a year-long celebration of 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.
The celebration included the coronation and procession of the Santa Cruzan king and queen, traditional food and drinks, music and Mass.
Other festivities for the 500th anniversary year include El Shaddai in July, San Lorenzo Ruiz in September, CFC Family Enrichment Day in August, Blocked Rosary in October, Travelling Novena in October, Miraculous Medal in November, Simbang Gabi in December, Sto Nino de Filipinas and Sto Nino de Cebu in January, Re-enactment of the first Mass at Easter and closing of the celebration.
From June 2021 to Advent of 2022, special Masses can be organised in parishes comprising Filipinos (besides the present five Mass centres).
