The public procession departs from Torrens Parade Ground on April 18, with a start time of 3pm.

The public Way of the Cross procession is a joint effort between St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Forane Church, St. Mary’s Syro-Malabar parish and St. Euphrasia Syro-Malabar parish.

The procession will move prayerfully along King William Street and conclude at Victoria Square, near St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral.

Rev Dr Siby Kurian Pulickal, Forane Vicar, and Rev Fr Abraham Kazhunadiyil, Vicar of St. Euphrasia parish, will lead the gathering.

Syro-Malabar youth will recreate scenes from the Passion of Christ, with participants dressed in attire reminiscent of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.

Each participant is expected to carry a small cross as a sign of devotion and witness.

“This public act of worship is a proclamation of the core Christian message: that Jesus Christ is the Savior of humanity,” Fr. Siby said

“Following the success of the last two years, an even greater turnout is expected this year.”

The community will hold an additional Way of the Cross on Saturday April 12 at 4pm. This will be held at the Barossa’s Eden Valley Lookout.
