A group of young rock musicians from St Francis School, Lockleys, played their biggest ‘gig’ yet during the Catholic Schools Music Festival where they were the only primary school band to take to the stage at the Adelaide Festival Centre.
Early in June we celebrated the feast of Pentecost, often referred to as the ‘birthday of the Church’, when Peter and the other apostles presented the Good News of Christ to the Jerusalem crowds who heard them speaking in their own language. So we could say that, right from the beginning, the character of the Church has been multicultural!
They come from diverse backgrounds and cover a range of ages, but the members of the Schola Choir at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral share the common bond of celebrating their faith through song.
Former Rostrevor College student and singer Julian De Vizio is currently making big noises on the music scene in the United States.
