A Josephite sister who has dedicated much of her life to ensuring the legacy of St Mary MacKillop continues has been an awarded an Order of Australia medal (OAM) in the King’s Birthday honours list.
If she’s not the first Aboriginal Catholic school principal in South Australia, then she’s almost certainly the second or third. Regardless, Emma Fowler who has run St Raphael’s School in Parkside for the past 18 months, comes with someone pretty cool in her corner.

When Bev Garton and her twin sister ‘Bronny’ gathered their loved ones to celebrate eight decades of sisterhood, the siblings were on top of the world. The celebration took place on the rooftop of the Glenelg apartment block they call home, and the love surrounding them was uplifting.
