The Kensington museum also received the inaugural ‘Legend’ award, an honour reserved for businesses that have been past award winners.

Museum volunteer Pam Marks joined staff and board members at the awards presentation on April 23.

Pam said it was a privilege to represent the volunteers of the museum and she felt very honoured to be at the event.

“Walking into the Mary MacKillop Precinct has a very special feeling and significance,” she said.

“I enjoy my time as a volunteer and appreciate all the support given to me.”

Amanda Taverna, manager of the Mary MacKillop Precinct, said “clearly such accolades do not come without the effort of a great team”.

“It’s a tribute to the teamwork of all of our volunteers, staff and the Sisters of Saint Joseph,” she said.

The Eastside Business Awards is an annual awards program run by the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters in partnership with Solstice Media to recognise and celebrate the achievements of small business, retailers, restaurants, cafes bars, venues and boutiques within the City.

Customers, residents, employers and employees can vote online for their favourite business.
