It should have been one of the best days of his life. After 14 years of Jesuit studies and preparation for the priesthood and the day after his ordination on December 9 1972 in<br /> St Ignatius Church, Norwood, Fr Greg O’Kelly was celebrating his first Mass at Holy Name Church, St Peter’s, when tragedy struck.

Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ shared his thoughts on the priesthood at the Mass of Thanksgiving for Fr Olek Stirrat at the Church of the Annunciation, Hectorville, on Sunday March 13. This was the first Mass celebrated by Fr Stirrat after his ordination on March 12.
Recall that more than 200,000 people joined discussion groups in preparation for the Plenary Council, and from these groups came 17,000 suggested items for consideration.
In his homily at the funeral Mass, BISHOP GREG O’KELLY SJ highlighted Archbishop Wilson’s deep faith, his love for the Church, his ability to forgive, his pastoral help towards individuals and his desire to strengthen the protection of children and the vulnerable in Church institutions.
Acknowledging the First Peoples in the Australian Constitution would be a healing step, Emeritus Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ said at the annual Australia Day Mass last month.
Fr Karol Kulczycki SDS, Bishop-elect of the Diocese of Port Pirie, will be installed on Wednesday October 28 after being ordained in Poland.
