Antonio Catholic School at Morphett Vale marked its 50th anniversary with the opening of two time capsules and an anniversary Mass on November 14.
The capsules, sealed and concealed beneath the base of the Mary Help of Christians monument at the school’s front gate in 1975 and 1995, offered a glimpse into the life of the school and parish community across the decades.
As part of this milestone, students added their own items to a new time capsule, which will be housed in a purpose-built vault.
Opened in 1975 as the first new Catholic school in Adelaide’s Archdiocese in a decade, the school is named after Herbert and Ethel Antonio, who were generous benefactors of the parish community.
