St Raphael’s School, Parkside, received the greatest number of nominations and was in excellent company alongside Unley Primary, Unley High School, Concordia and Urrbrae High School.

The awards highlight the dedication, genuine care and commitment displayed by teachers as they go about their roles.

Lord Mayor Michael Hewitson and Local Member for Unley David Pisoni attended the ceremony.

Among recipients was early career teacher Tia Della Pace who won the Encouragement category.

There’s so much I love about teaching, but what stands out the most is the joy of seeing students grow and discover new things each day,” Miss Della Pace said. “I love how every day in the classroom is different… one day, we might be diving into a story about a pigeon on a bus and the next, we’re outside exploring nature or designing a boat that can float in water. The energy and curiosity that children bring to learning keep me excited and inspired. Plus, it’s incredibly rewarding to build those strong connections and watch each child find their own path.”

Winning the award was a special moment for Miss Della Pace. “It felt like a recognition of the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my teaching. It’s also been a reminder of how much I enjoy growing alongside my students and exploring new ways to make learning meaningful for them. Above all, it was an honour to be acknowledged by my school community, and it has inspired me to keep striving to make a positive impact.”

Fellow St Raphael’s School teacher Meeiying Lee received a gong in the Achievement category.

“When my principal Emma Fowler called me to inform me that I had been chosen, I was very surprised and I felt truly honoured to receive this award,” Mrs Lee said. “I dedicate myself to working hard with my students every day to ensure that each one feels valued and successful. This recognition means so much because it reflects the commitment I have to helping my students grow and achieve their best.”

The mother of two started working at St Raphael’s this year and was previously employed at Nazareth Catholic College.

“I am passionate about teaching because I find great fulfillment in witnessing my students’ growth and progress over the year, Mrs Lee said. “It is especially rewarding to see those ‘lightbulb moments’ when they make meaningful connections and deepen their understanding.”
