Archbishop Patrick O’Regan conducted the blessing ceremony in the Year 6 classroom of the new Br Ambrose Treacy Building.

He was joined by dignitaries and invited guests, students, staff, parents, Parents and Friends Committee and School Advisory Council members.

The blessing was filmed and live streamed into primary years classrooms.

Coordinated by Dale Clarke and Miranda McGlaughlin, the liturgy involved students in readings, dancing and singing.

Chris Woolley, chief executive officer of Edmund Rice Education Australia Colleges Ltd, Chris Leadbetter, EREA Regional director of Education for WA and SA and Vin Thomas, EREA Board member, were among the invited guests. The Federal and State governments were represented by James Stevens (Member for Sturt) and Dana Worley (Member for Torrens).

The building is named after Br Ambrose Treacy who successfully brought the Christian Brothers’ mission to Australia and New Zealand.
