Experienced educator to lead Nazareth

Well known Catholic education leader Brian Schumacher has been appointed the new principal of Nazareth Catholic College.
Mr Schumacher, who is currently the manager of School, Quality and Performance: Strategy, Culture and Innovation at Catholic Education SA, has a long career in Catholic education and will be a familiar face to many. Since moving to SA in 2005, Mr Schumacher has held leadership roles as director of Schools (SA, WA & NT) at Edmund Rice Education Australia, as well as principal of Rostrevor College, Cabra Dominican College and Sacred Heart College (Middle School).

In announcing the appointment, CESA executive director, Dr Neil McGoran, said Mr Schumacher brought a “wealth of leadership experience” and a “strong commitment to the Catholic faith” to his new role.
“Brian brings a demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for ensuring excellence in teaching and learning to this leadership role at Nazareth,” Dr McGoran said. “He is very much looking forward to meeting and working with staff, students, parents and the parish community. I am confident that his high level personal and professional qualities, skills and knowledge will enable him to successfully lead the Nazareth Catholic College community.”
Commencing in Term 1 next year, Mr Schumacher will replace Andrew Baker, who has been appointed principal at St Francis de Sales College in Mount Barker.
