Former Reds player takes over CBC soccer program

Christian Brothers College’s soccer program has received a major boost with news that former Adelaide United player Marcelo Carrusca has taken over as its technical director.
Born in Argentina, Carrusca played for Turkish club Galatasaray before joining the Reds in 2012. His talents were critical in their success and obtaining the A-League Championship in 2016.
After playing for Melbourne City in 2017 and Western City Wanderers in 2018, Carrusca announced his retirement last year, saying he was keen to become involved in coaching.
CBC’s Head of Soccer, Gabriel Portolesi, said Carrusca’s experience would be a “significant addition” to the school’s development program and both players and coaches would “benefit immensely” from his knowledge of the game.
“The progressive nature of the soccer program will allow for all boys to develop not only as exceptional players but also as respectful young men of the purple and white,” he said.
