Rugging up for a cause
Schools
As in past years, students and staff at Xavier College are supporting the work of the local Gawler branch of the St Vincent de Paul Society through their annual Vinnies Winter Appeal.
Members of the school community are being asked to donate cans of good quality food to be included in food hampers distributed by Vinnies, and support Fred’s Van.
The college also held a ‘Winter Woollies’ day where, for a gold coin donation, students could wear their beanies, scarves and gloves to school, sparking many friendly football rivalries. Funds from this initiative will go towards buying more cans for the drive.
The fundraiser fits nicely within the school motto of RUAH: Respect, Understanding, Affection and Humour, and a genuine desire to help others in the local community.
