As South Australians commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hutt St Centre this year, it is sobering to realise that the need for the centre’s services has never been greater.
An increasing number of people are struggling with cost of living rises and reaching out for assistance from Vinnies for the first time, according to one of the leaders of the St Vincent de Paul Society in SA.
Year 6 students at St Thomas School, Goodwood, swapped their beds for cardboard boxes and slept in their classroom last month to raise more than $4000 for Vinnies.
