One of the festival’s many events is a guided tour of St Casimir’s Church in St Peters to view the uniquely Lithuanian-inspired stained glass windows. The exquisite creations and the stories behind them provide an insight into the Lithuanian Catholic Community’s cultural history.

Event organisers suggest meeting at The Gallery at St Peters Town Hall to view the Art of Glass exhibition (which runs until June 8) before walking or driving to St Casimir’s for a guided tour.

“You’ll see the stained glass window which is in the main chapel behind the altar which depicts St Casimir,” said Lithuanian Association president Linas Kubilius.

“There are many windows to see and each one has a story, which the tour guides will talk through.”

The tours of St Casimir’s will be held on Tuesday May 21, Wednesday May 22 and Saturday May 25 from 10.30am to 11.30am. Tours are free but bookings are encouraged.
