Leading from the Heart

Student leaders from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College turned the tables on teaching and learning and became the facilitators at a workshop last term.
‘Leading from the Heart’ was the theme of the leaders’ formation event that was attended by students from OLSH and three local primary schools sharing the charism of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Students from St Gabriel’s School, Enfield, St Brigid’s School, Kilburn and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School at Brompton participated in the day which was hosted and facilitated by OLSH.

Acting deputy principal Sue Knight, who helped coordinate the day, said the purpose of the inaugural shared formation was to continue the legacy of the OLSH Sisters.
“The workshop on April 6 was all about honouring the great work of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart with our fellow OLSH schools,” she said.
“From warm-up activities to hearing about our shared history and charism, sharing what it means to live out the unique ‘Spirituality of the Heart’, the workshop was a vibrant and inclusive, important and fun celebration of our OLSH connection.”
Dr Knight also thanked the OLSH partner schools and colleagues Bronwyn Ridley (St Gabriel’s), Annette Diassinas (St Brigid’s) and Lisa McCormick (Immaculate Heart of Mary) for helping to make the day a “great success”.
