CWL members travelling from Adelaide, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Copper Coast and Eyre Peninsula were welcomed with a cuppa and home-made biscuits before the meeting commenced.

Reports from office holders focussed on the work of branch members within their own parishes as well as statewide activities such as sponsoring retreats and supporting charities like Catherine House, Hutt St Centre and Vinnies.

Bishop Karol Kulczycki, Bishop of the Diocese of Port Pirie, was present for part of the morning. He was celebrating the fifth anniversary of his episcopal ordination and installation as the Bishop of Port Pirie Diocese.

He took time to speak to the CWL Members about the importance of supporting one another and also spoke about supporting evangelisation programmes in parishes.

The meeting was followed by the Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion, prepared and led by CWL Port Pirie spiritual adviser, Sr Kerry Keenan.

After lunch Delia Guy, from the Port Pirie Conference of St Vincent de Paul, spoke about the history of the society as well as the work they do today in and around Port Pirie.
