Fringe concerts return to Cathedral

The Adelaide Fringe is coming to St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral again in 2018, with three concerts set to showcase the beautiful sounds of the Casavant Freres pipe organ.
Following the success of this year’s inaugural festival program, three highly-regarded organists will perform at the free lunchtime concerts on February 28, March 7 and 14.
Perth-based Jacinta Jakovcevic will be one of the guest organists. She has gained extensive experience as a musician taking part in ABC broadcasts and working with organisations including the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the University of Western Australia.
Miss Jakovcevic is director of Music at St Mary’s Cathedral in Perth where she combines her love of liturgy and music with her keen interest in choral music, music administration and the development of young musicians. She is a member of the National Liturgical Music Board which advises the Bishops Commission on matters relating to music in Catholic liturgical worship.
