Lauren Bath, Siena Franchitto, Lola Wotherspoon, Anna Toumbas, Chelsea Tran, Sidney Ackarie and Joseph Law were part of the team and showcased their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration by developing a dynamic performance over six weeks that addressed a complex literary challenge.
It required them to write an engaging script, weave in literary elements and present their ideas in a captivating way.
St Thomas Year 6 teacher and leader of learning, Laura Donnellan, said throughout the competition, the students honed their problem-solving skills, developed a deep understanding of narrative techniques and practiced effective communication.
“They learned to manage time efficiently, work under pressure and embrace feedback to refine their work,” she said.
“This achievement reflects their dedication, resilience, and passion for storytelling, and they now eagerly prepare to represent their state on the international stage, ready to compete with teams from around the world.”
The international finals took place in Sydney with many teams flying in from around the world to compete over a weekend at the University of Sydney.
“The team made us proud with their outstanding performance on the day,” Laura said.
