Youth celebration
Events
Young people around the Archdiocese will join together to show their commitment to caring for the environment as part of Season of Creation celebrations being held in September.

The Threshold: Earth event is being staged by the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults on Saturday September 19. The afternoon vigil will include workshops, activities, prayer and liturgy, and guest speakers addressing the themes of caring for the environment, sustainability and Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.
Coordinator Peter Bierer said aspects of the event will be live streamed on COYYA’s Facebook page for those unable to attend the event. Resources for the Season of Creation are also available on COYYA’s website.
Mr Bierer said the Threshold initiative was being driven by a committee of young Catholics who “share a passion for environmental concern and their faith”.
Committee members include Alice Dunlop (Little Earthies, Willunga parish), Charlie Borda (Blackwood), Amelie Mullarkey (Glen Osmond), Rhea Thomas (Morphett Vale), Thanh Vong (Croydon Park), Nicola Randall (youth minister, Cardijn College) and Scott Hanel (former youth minister, St Michael’s College).
