The importance of ecumenism to Catholics and its connection to renewal of the Church will be addressed at a service in Adelaide on Saturday August 3 in St Peter Claver Church, Dulwich.

The Catholics for Christian Unity Service, which was held for the first time last year, supports Pope Francis’ renewed calls for a commitment to the ecumenical journey.

“For us as Christians, walking together is not a ploy to strengthen our own positions, but an act of obedience to the Lord and love for our world,” the Pope said recently.

“Let us ask the Father to help us walk together all the more resolutely in the ways of the Spirit.”

All members of the Archdiocese are invited to participate in the Christian Unity service, which will celebrate our strong tradition of ecumenical partnership and outreach.

Apostolic delegate Fr Philip Marshall will address the gathering about how ecumenism relates to renewal and why it is important to the Church.

To be held from 2-4pm, the service will be followed by refreshments in the Dulwich Hall.
