Catholic school communities will be ‘sharing the love’ as part of Catholic Education Week celebrations this month.
To be held from May 15-21, the annual event coordinated by Catholic Education SA (CESA) will focus on what students and teachers love about their Catholic school.
CESA is asking schools to join with them via social media in sharing the ‘love’ and highlighting all the things that make Catholic schools so special. Through social media posts, schools will encourage their communities – parents, students, teachers and alumni – to comment and post about the reasons they #LoveMyCatholicSchool.
CESA director Dr Neil McGoran said Catholic Education Week was an opportunity to celebrate the “excellent teaching and learning that happens in Catholic schools every day”.
“Catholic schools in South Australia offer so much and each is extraordinary in its own way,” he said. “Catholic Education Week allows us to take time to reflect on what makes our schools so special and this year we have a particular focus on highlighting what students and teachers love about their school.”
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Port Pirie will use the week to focus on the theme ‘Called to Community’. School communities will engage in prayer and social justice actions that build on welcoming others, and reflect the virtues of compassion and kindness.
