A number of new clergy appointments to parishes took effect last month while several priests due to retire have agreed to continue for varying periods.
Irish parish priest Father Ray Kelly gave a moving rendition of the R.E.M. song Everybody Hurts in Britain’s Got Talent last month. He even received a standing ovation from the judges and audience.
Father Michael Musyoka Kyumu will take over as parish priest of Brighton and Hallett Cove in September, following the retirement of Monsignor Ian Dempsey.
There will be new faces at several suburban and rural parishes next year following clergy appointments announced earlier this month.
