Connecting through art at St Dominic's
Schools
Artwork ‘from the heart’ is helping keep St Dominic’s Priory College students and the wider community connected during the coronavirus pandemic.
Launched by the school prefects, ‘Connecting Hearts, Not Hands’ is a fun project which is encouraging students from all year levels to create a piece of artwork to show the positive connections that have been developed despite the current social distancing.
Students have been asked to let their imaginations ‘run wild’ to communicate their message, with submissions including paintings, drawings, using typography, writing poems, stories, letters, music compositions, speeches, dance and videos.
Not only are the artworks being displayed around the college, they will also brighten the walls and buoy the spirits of staff and patients at Mary Potter Hospice, Helping Hand Aged Care and the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
