Adelaide AGM for the members of the Catholic Women’s League.

Print article

Members of the Catholic Women’s League gathered in the Adelaide Archdiocese Cathedral Hall on April 1 for a combined annual general meeting for the CWLSA State Council and the CWL Archdiocesan Council.
“This is the first time we have tried a combined AGM instead of two separate ones and it worked really well, as well as making great sense as an efficient use of our members’ time,” said incoming CWLSA president Sue Williams.
In addition to Sue’s election, other new appointments include Archdiocesan president Sue Sheldrick.
“We filled all positions on both executives except the State secretary,” Sue said.
“We have four new members on the State Executive and two new members on the Archdiocesan Executive, so we are very pleased with that and feel that it shows great hope for CWL this coming year.”
Guest speakers from Hutt St Centre spoke to CWLSA members about the Louise Homefulness Fund, which will provide once-off financial support for eligible clients to achieve or retain homefulness.
Since 2022, Hutt St Centre has seen a 26 per cent increase in women using laundry services, a 14 per cent rise in shower use, a 10 per cent increase in medical visits, a 30 per cent growth in Wellbeing Centre visits by women, and a 115 per cent surge in attendance at female-specific programs.
