Golf day a winner for Catholic Charities

On a beautiful spring day in October, 113 players teed off for the annual Catholic Charities Golf Day.

Catholic Charities Golf Day raises funds to support Centacare Catholic Family Services’ many important works including Auricht House which provides respite care for families with children with disabilities.

The golf day is possible due to the major sponsors, the Whelan family/Premier Panel Services and Southern Cross Care, as well as the dedicated support of the golf fay committee.

Chaired by Peter McCarthy, it includes Joan Young, Enza Francavilla, Michael O’Kelly, Michael Griffin, Rod Hern, Gary Amott, Declan Donleavy and Rocky Marafioti. Scorers were Rod Hern, Eugene Brzezinski, Rocky Marafioti, John McCarthy, Gary Amott and Tony Bourne.

Greg Bourke was the men’s overall winner and won the Tom Fogarty Memorial Trophy with 38 Stableford points, winning on a countback from Mark Robertson. The overall ladies’ winner was Enza Francavilla who won the Helen Kain Trophy with 35 points.
