A festival of food held at Mercedes College has raised about $7000 to support the work of Circle of Friends with refugees in the community.

A variety of authentic Middle Eastern dishes were showcased at the lunchtime event which was attended by 75 guests on Saturday May 15. Money raised will assist local refugee families with accommodation costs, school uniforms and fees, groceries and utility expenses.

Sister Meredith Evans coordinated the festival, with support on the day provided by Mercedes College staff Anne Morse and Michael Francis and students Kyra Kerwin and Henry Zhou.
