Walking together
National
The Bishops Commission for Christian Unity and Inter-religious Dialogue is inviting all Catholics who are engaged in ecumenical and interfaith activities to attend the National Conference for Ecumenical and Interfaith Works – ‘Walking Together’ 2025.
This year is the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea which proclaimed the Nicene Creed recited at Sunday Mass.
This confession of faith has served as a point of Christian unity for 1700 years.
The Catholic Church is also celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vatican II’s watershed document, Nostra Aetate, which transformed the Church’s relations with other religions.
It affirmed all that is true and holy in them as signs of God’s presence.

The Plenary Council of Australia, the Synod of Bishops and Pope Francis have called all Catholics to walk synodally with each other, with other Christians, with believers in other religions, with all people of goodwill; and together to promote peace, justice, harmony, the common good of society, and care for our common home, as pilgrims journeying together towards the fullness of truth and life.
To be held at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney, the conference will commence on Friday May 30, 6pm to 8.30pm with prayer, dinner and guest speaker. On Saturday May 31 the plenary session will be followed by workshops and opportunities to discuss issues and develop networks.
