Royal recognition for SA Catholic schools

South Australia’s Catholic schools will feature in a prestigious publication being launched this month at Westminster Abbey, London, to mark 75 years of the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth at 75 publication showcases examples of leadership, innovation, and development across the 56 nations of the Commonwealth. It also marks the appointment of King Charles III as the Head of the Commonwealth.
The book will be distributed to more than 400,000 individuals and organisations globally following its official launch in October.
Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) is an official partner of the commemorative publication produced by The History of Parliament and St James’s House. CESA’s contribution to the book includes its long-standing role in promoting education, inclusivity, and community development in South Australia through its Catholic values-based system of faith and compassion.

Catholic Education executive director Neil McGoran was interviewed earlier this year by renowned royal author Katie Nicholl and he has been invited to attend the launch event at Westminster Abbey on October 9.
“I am honoured to represent Catholic Education SA in this global celebration of leadership and innovation,” Dr McGoran said.
“The Commonwealth’s dedication to education mirrors our commitment to raising hearts and minds and creating positive change in our communities.
“Our inclusion in The Commonwealth at 75 publication enables us to showcase the
work of Catholic Education in this State.
“It is our aim to educate and nurture well-rounded students, in partnership with their parents, and instil values and faith that children can take into adulthood. We also acknowledge the important contributions that many thousands of staff have made to communities in South Australia through their steadfast pursuit of excellence and equity in education.”
The Commonwealth at 75 hardback book explores the origins, history and impact of the Commonwealth up to the present day, highlighting its global contributions to social and cultural progress.
Richard Freed, founder of St James’ House, said: “We’re delighted to be launching this prestigious publication, which pays tribute to the Commonwealth and its member States. The 75th anniversary offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on its past, present and future.”
