Well known for her lifestyle writing, in particular wine and food, she is state editor (SA) for Gourmet Traveller Magazine and a regular contributor and columnist to The Age, Sydney Morning Herald (Good Food Magazine) and Australia’s Wine Business Magazine.
She was named 2021 Wine Communicator of the Year for her series of books on wine producers in South Australia and won the award for Best Published Feature or Column.
In 2022 Katie (pictured) was named Best Rural Journalist – Print – in the Rural Media Communicator Awards. From 2018 to 2021 she was a journalist and feature writer for News Corps’

Katie developed a love of storytelling as a child growing up on a dairy farm in Meningie, South Australia.
She says community-driven stories have always been her focus and she is looking forward to the opportunity to give people from diverse backgrounds a voice through The Southern Cross.
Katie will spend four days a week with Archdiocese of Adelaide while continuing her other freelance roles.
