Toby’s distinguished and well-deserved achievement in this award, sees him join an impressive list of Catholic sector primary physical education teachers to have won this award for excellence in recent years, including Travis Henderson (formerly of St David’s, Tea Tree Gully), Nick Skewes (currently Xavier College, Two Wells), Scott Hughes (currently St Francis Xavier’s, Wynn Vale) and Kas Pillay (St Augustine’s, Salisbury).

As a further ‘feather in the cap’ of the Catholic primary sector, three of the four finalists in the 2022 Norma Jenner Award are current physical education teachers in Catholic primary schools: Narelle Dew, Loreto College, and Tristan Lorensini, St Columba College, Andrew’s Farm.

Narelle, current president of South Australian Catholic Primary Schools Sports Association (SACPSSA), received a further recognition of her outstanding service to Loreto (38 years) and SACPSSA (31 years).

Darren Elliott, SACPSSA executive officer congratulated Toby, Narelle, Tristan and all the PE teachers in Catholic primary schools for the “outstanding contribution they make to the learning, health and well-being of the students in our schools.”
