While the wearing of masks is no longer mandatory in most settings, including Mass centres, Archbishop O’Regan said with increased numbers expected over Easter, COVID-safe practices were a priority.

For those unable to attend services, the Archdiocese will live stream the Mass of the Last Supper tonight (Thursday), the Good Friday Passion of the Lord, the Easter Vigil on Saturday night and the 11am Easter Sunday Mass in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral at  www.adelaide.catholic.org.au.

Archbishop O’Regan said as the “central event of our faith”, Easter was a time of hope and renewal.

“At a time when we are feeling disconnected through all the events happening in our world both faraway in wars in Ukraine, Ethiopia and many other places; and close by in the devastating floods in New South Wales and Queensland, we need to be reminded what Easter is all about; that God has not abandoned us,” he said.
