National pandemic prayer day
News
Australians are being invited to pray for local, national and global communities experiencing great need and distress as a result of the pandemic.
Sunday August 22 has been nominated as a national day of prayer by a broad range of Christian communities, including the National Council of Churches Australia (NCAA).
The theme is ‘Lord have mercy’ and it calls people to be especially united in prayer, both individually and, where possible, in their liturgies.
The NCAA will also host a Zoom Prayer call featuring Church leaders and Indigenous Christian leaders on the evening of August 22.
