Prominent Australian theological publisher, ATF Press, has announced that in 2021 its ATF Theological Book Prize will be named in honour of the late Fr Denis Edwards OAM.
The announcement was made at the launch on December 10 in Adelaide of two books in honour of Denis, God in the Natural World and Denis Edwards in His Own Words. The Adelaide priest and renowned theologian died unexpectedly on March 5 2019.
ATF Press CEO and publisher, Hilary Regan, said there were various book prizes for Christian books around the world, including in Australia.
“This year Denis Edwards’ last book, Deep Incarnation, received an award in the USA,” he said.

“ATF Press has had a theological prize for a number of years for the most outstanding theological book written by an Australian or New Zealand theologian. Some years ago Denis was awarded the prize for one of his books.”
The $2000 ATF Denis Edwards Theological Book Prize will be awarded biennially and will be judged by an independent group of judges, all former academic theologians. All submissions need to be made by the March 31, with the winner announced later in 2021.
ATF Press is based in Adelaide and has been publishing books, religious and non-religious, and academic journals for nearly 30 years. All books are available in soft and hard cover, epub and PDF. The Press has several different divisions, all of which are distributed locally and internationally and publishes books in French, Spanish and Italian that are distributed in those countries.
