Interfaith celebration of climate action for peace
Local
Members of faith communities in Adelaide are invited to join together to celebrate the International Day of Peace (IDP) next month.
The global theme of IDP in 2019 is ‘Climate Action for Peace’. The Adelaide event will demonstrate faith communities’ commitment to interfaith harmony, provide a platform to discuss how ‘Living the Change’ can help the community to tackle climate change, and offer an insight on ‘how to live more gently on country’ from First Nation Elders.
Organised by Multifaith South Australia, supported by the South Australian Council of Churches and the Interfaith Rapid Response Network established after the Christchurch mosque shootings, the peace celebration on Saturday September 21 will be held at the Baha’i Centre of Learning at 275 Flinders Street, Adelaide, from 5-8.30pm.
Those wishing to attend are asked to ‘bring a plate and come enjoy music, meditation and a shared supper’.
RSVP to Philippa Rowland at multifaithsa@gmail.com or phone 0429 828 412.
