Newcomer no stranger to Josephite spirit

The new manager of the Mary MacKillop Precinct at Kensington, Amanda Taverna, has big shoes to fill but her firsthand experience of the Josephite charism and the canonisation of Australia’s first saint is sure to hold her in good stead.

Ministry of prayer

It all started with a taxi driver asking her to pray for him and from there Josephite Sister Margaret Hehir’s ministry has grown to see her now praying for nearly 1500 people each day.


More than a building

More than 200 present and past parishioners from Hamley Bridge and the Northern Light parish gathered on Sunday April 30 to mark 100 years since the consecration of Our Lady of the Nativity Church at Hamley Bridge.


Josephite jubilarians

The Sisters of Saint Joseph celebrated significant anniversaries of profession at Saint Ignatius’ Church, Norwood, in March. Sisters Ann Leesue, Augusta Bresba and Elizabeth Murphy celebrated 60 years professed and Sr Anne Fitzgerald celebrated her 70th anniversary.
