Good deeds aplenty at Stella Maris

As Catholics around the country show their support for seafarers on Sea Sunday this month, JENNY BRINKWORTH spent an afternoon with the Stella Maris Seafarers Centre at Taperoo.

The centenary of Stella Maris, the Catholic Church’s missionary work with seafarers, will be celebrated in Adelaide on Sunday (December 6) at 5pm.

Reaching out to confined seafarers

As Catholics around the nation prepare to honour the work of seafarers through the annual Sea Sunday Appeal, the local Stella Maris centre is making a touching gesture to let crews know they are “not alone” and “our thoughts and prayers are with you always”.
