College donates Christmas hampers for families in need
Schools
Sacred Heart College Senior School has demonstrated another example of the Marist family spirit at work with the donation of more than 45 hampers loaded with goodies for families in need this Christmas.
The hampers were collected today by volunteers from the St Vincent De Paul Society and will be distributed to families in five local conferences – St Ann’s, Seacombe Gardens, St Mary’s, Glenelg, Brighton and Morphett Vale.
Each year the college takes part in the annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal, with homerooms given the basic details of families in each conference who are in need (for example, adult male/female, children’s ages and gender). The students then purchase non-perishable food items, including Christmas fare, and gifts appropriate to that family, making the festive season just a little bit brighter for them.
