Evening prayer
Local
Members of the Blackwood and Aberfoyle Park parishes have embraced the opportunity to escape from the distractions of the busy world and be part of the traditional meditative prayer service known as the Vespers.
Sung by candlelight with Gregorian chant and medieval polyphony, the Vespers is a liturgy of evening prayer, a time for the faithful to contemplate and give thanks and praise for the day just gone.
The 7pm service is held monthly on the second Thursdays at St Paul of the Cross Church, Blackwood and features cantors Dr Stephen and Arwin Gensemer, who are supported by members of the Blackwood choir.
