Celebrating the Mass was Archbishop Patrick O’Regan, with Fr Paul Cashen MSC, Fr Denis Rochford MSC, Fr James McEvoy, Fr Tony Telford Sharpe and Fr Pat Lopresti concelebrating.

Archbishop O’Regan con-gratulated the eight graduates on their studies and presented each with their certificate and a uniquely decorated Aboriginal cross from the sacred lands of Lake Mungo, NSW.

Following the Mass the graduates, their friends, family and support people enjoyed a picnic on the lawns outside the Cathedral.

Retiring MFP director, Margaret Speechley spoke of the achievements of the graduating class and offered words of gratitude and encouragement to the students for their future endeavours.

The graduating students were Deacon Tee Ping Koh, Jorge Contreras, Bernadette Smith, Narita Perrotta, Karen O’Keefe, Tash Souter, Susan Anderson and Susan Wainwright.
