Catholics and members of interfaith groups joined thousands of protestors as part of the student-led ‘School Strike 4 Climate’ held in Adelaide today.
The young, old, students, workers, unionists and even some four-legged friends gathered in Victoria Square for the lunchtime rally, marching to Parliament House to call for the government’s urgent action on climate change.
Inspired by Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, Adelaide’s rally coincided with others held throughout Australia today. Similar strikes will be held around the world over the next week and are expected to attract millions of supporters.
