On Friday October 6, young adults from Parish Crawl, MatChat, Young Christian Workers, Aquinas College and around the community joined in the Soup Kitchen action hosted and run by Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) at St Paul’s Food Technology Centre.

“It was an incredible night bringing together young people from all around Adelaide in support of St Vinnies Fred’s Van,” said Sisilina Saukuru, Youth Engagement officer with YCW.

“With homelessness rates increasing, we especially see more young people living on the streets due to inflation in the current living crisis. Fred’s Van encourages people in our community who are sleeping rough or who are in insecure accommodation to access the service.

“What a fabulous way to start October with a night of meeting passionate people, brushing up on our cooking skills and to give back into the community.

The event was organised by Kristy Allison regional assistant for MYM and the MYM team.
