High Street Cafe is owned by Mick Beech who leases the premises from the Sisters of St Joseph. The cafe was awarded the bronze medal in the Best Coffee Shop category at the 2022 awards presentation in Brisbane.

This followed the cafe’s success at the State awards earlier last year.

R&CA president Mike Palmer congratulated the High Street Cafe on its award and wished it well for the future.

“The awards are always highly competitive, with the very best of what our nation’s hospitality industry has to offer so this award should be all that more special,” he said.

Mr Beech said it was “fantastic” to be recognised by peers in the hospitality industry as the best that Australia has to offer.

“Considering we are only just two years old, it’s a real credit to our hard working staff and our lovely customers who come in each day and support the cafe,” he said.

R&CA is the industry association representing tens of thousands of restaurant and catering businesses across Australia.
